The 12 picture blocks were designed with and extra one inch of background fabric to allow for squaring the blocks after sewing. This extra fabric also eliminates the needs for the outside edges of the sewn blocks to match exactly.
The Chain Blocks, Border Chain Blocks and the Corner Chain Blocks are all simple to construct. The directions for the Picture Blocks are given before the Chain blocks.
If you feel the whole quilt is too much of a challenge, select any of the first six easy blocks and make a wall hanging, lap quilt, pillow, apron, tote bag, table runner or placemats. Let your imagination go with this quilt—the possibilities are endless!
